Midsummer's Eve 2026 on Torrevieja's beaches

Midsummer's Eve 2026 will be celebrated in Torrevieja with traditional beach bonfires, where hundreds of people gather on Torrevieja's beaches to perform a cleansing ritual. This involves lighting a bonfire on the sand and jumping over it to free themselves from all the bad things that have happened during the year.

At the end of the ceremony, feet are briefly immersed in the water to experience the full power of the sea.

At 11:59 PM, a grand fireworks display will begin from the Juan Aparicio promenade, visible from all of Torrevieja's beaches.

On which beaches in Torrevieja are Midsummer's Eve celebrated with bonfires?

La Mata Beach

El Cura Beach

Los Locos Beach

Los Náufragos Beach

The City Council typically distributes approximately 15,000 kilograms of pinewood (which leaves very little waste) to those wishing to light a bonfire on each of the city's beaches.

Where can I pick up the firewood?

Firewood distribution points:

– Los Náufragos Beach (at the entrance to the Poniente Pier)

– Los Locos Beach (central area)

– El Cura Beach (north area)

– La Mata Beach (next to the pump station), on Avenida de los Europeos, next to the lifeguard station, and in La Mata, opposite the Encarnación Puchol square.
